Local quilter and embroiderer Diane Smith stopped by our office recently to share an incredible labor of love—a quilt she designed and made for her grandson.
Months in the making, the quilt weaves together not just fabric, but memories. After the tragic loss of her husband, Jeff, in a car accident in 2023, Diane poured her heart into this project. Each detail reflects the landscapes, wildlife, and local landmarks from their home in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire—capturing the essence of a place and a life deeply cherished.
We're honored Diane chose Madeira Threads for such a meaningful project, and we're inspired by the way she used her art to celebrate cherished memories, creating comfort, connection, and beauty in every carefully stitched detail.
Thank you, Diane, for sharing your story and your stunning work with us.
